Last Sunday, we headed down to Amara Sanctuary Resort and Crowne Plaza for more wedding shows. We had freebies HEEHEE and also had the opportunity to attend more wedding fashion shows. I shall upload some of the photos here when I have the time. It’s rather difficult to commit during the wedding show despite all the promotions valid only during the show. Reason being, we have not gone to other ballrooms and surveyed the ambience of the surroundings. I like Amara Sanctuary for its different wedding suite; it has a bali feel, with the bed cast in romantic mosquito nets (or something like it, HAHA)! The villa is gorgeous too! But it depends la, some people may not like it…Over at Crowne Plaza, it’s quite clear that we will not be able to hold it over there because they can only hold a maximum of 25 tables; too little! But if you like a small wedding, it has a very different ballroom, meant to depict a rainforest.
Yesterday, we went down to Holiday Inn Atrium for Lavish Love. Guess what? There was another wedding fashion show, with the exact same models from the previous shows!!! There is a particularly gorgeous one; dear and I are always on the lookout for her entrance, haha! We are not really impressed with Holiday Inn. We then headed down in the evening to Marina Bay Sands Convention Hall. It was super ulu!! So difficult to find, and so many function rooms that the whole walkway through was like marching down an endless road! Horrible. And when I took sneak peeks into a wedding that had not started at 6pm, the decorations were not to standard. It was to be fair a junior ballroom, but no chandaliers or any grand lightings at all!!! Plain boring rectangular boxed lighting! No no nooo. So we headed to find the Sand Ballroom. It was HUGEEE and well I actually found the lighting here better and rather interesting. There are actually hundreds of glass bulbs of different sizes and lengths dangling. But the ceiling was not plastered well and there were dark patches everywhere ??? Not good at all.
Late into the evening, we decided to walk down to Fullerton, with hopeful hearts. We managed to sneak into the ballroom when the wedding had not started, oops. Dear was not really impressed again despite the ballroom being decorated already. đŚ I think we need to keep our expectations down. Sigh.
We are now casting our hopes on Mandarin Oriental and Shangri-La’s Island Ballroom. Making visits down soooon!
