Wedding Shows

Dear and I have started on our quest to search for our dream dinner venue. What a chore, just after settling our ROM venue and attending a couple of wedding shows, we thought that we had enough time to source for the actual day venue much later, only to realise, time is actually running short! 😦 Went for our first wedding show for our actual day at Amara Singapore today! There was a bridal fashion show from La Belle Conture! The models were ravishing; I think we can all forget about looking as gorgeous as them in the gowns. We need to learn to be realistic. Therefore, please do not get cheated and blinded by the sheer fashion magazines portraying the barbie-doll models in the gowns. WE WILL NEVER LOOK AS ANGELIC OR PRINCESSY!! LOL. Oh wells, but I shall still try my best to look good la! HAHA.

We had this short course of tea, if you consider having cold selections, shark’s fin (YESS OMG), noodles and mango pudding as tea! We also went up to their pool area to see the solemnisation set up! It’s rather lovely, BTBs can consider making a trip down to take a look! They even included 8 pedastral stands in the package!! That’s very worth it because if you don’t know the market price, it’s actually $80 each for a stand and I DO NOT HAVE IT IN MY ROM PACKAGE at Crowne Plaza~! 😦 But anyhow I like Crowne Plaza better, because at least the aerial surroundings are much nicer than the office buildings over at Amara, hehe.

We’re headed to Crowne Plaza’s wedding show tomrrow! And if we have the time, Amara Sanctuary Resorts (although we have already been there a few months ago!)! What a fulfilling weekend of bridal tasks to complete!

Engravings that last a lifetime

What to engrave on your wedding bands?! The question struck us only when we went to collect our bands last week! Guess what, we went back to change twice regarding the font type, again. I think the next time I choose something, you can guess that it would take the second try before we get it right, haha! Never be too paiseh to ask for a change ok! The newly weds need the best! The newly weds deserve the best!

Anyhow, we love our bands to bits! Unique colour, unique design (simple yet elegant!), and dear’s design, albeit simple, was actually replicated in Love & Co’s new series of wedding bands! Hehehe.

Satisfied with the bands and the service.

Dear wanted really simple engravings. In his own words:” It’s a RING.” Righhhhttt. Well, to compromise, I had my little heart and we kept it simple and short. No lovey dovey messages or whats not. You can be creative too. I actually saw some rings with the other partner’s signature, it’s definitely going to be the only one of its kind! Alas, dear’s signature CMI. Haha! Love & Co actually also provides engraving of a photo of the couple, imprinting of finger prints etc. But you should see whether it is really visible under the naked eye, after all, no one else will be bringing a magnifying glass around when you start showing off your lovely band.

Dream Gown!

I admit I’m fickle-minded. It happened to my ring selection. It happened again, this time with the gown. And with the combined advice of my family and dear, I finally picked another gown, and it is really my dream gown this time! I love it!

I would recommend brides-to-be not to show your happiness whenever you see a potential gown that you may love. Because once the person assisting in your gown selection sees that, he/she may just stop searching for an even better gown. Makes sense? That was what happened to my first gown. I love it, too, but as dear said, when there is an even better one at hand, there is a clear difference as to what choice should be made. And I’m glad this time round, I insisted on getting more gowns to try! I’m so happy! Everyone’s happy with the gown!

Gown trying

What an afternoon! I had a long two hours trying on a few gowns for our ROM! Poor dear only had 10 minutes for his jacket, because, unfortunately, there are only those few suits to try on. I guess that is why guys are not as excited as the brides-to-be. Lol!

To divulge a lil, I’ve not chosen a short ROM dress. I find it too boring, and considering the fact that people cannot believe a young looking girl like me is getting married, I’ve decided to get a more mature looking and elegant dress! I don’t have pictures taken, wish I had, so that at least my family can get a glimpse of the gown! 😦

The changing process was rather fun albeit tiring. Tried on a few gowns, and some were too tight! OMG. Had to trouble the people there to help me zip up. Felt so bare and naked doing that. Hahaha. I hope I get to try on more for the photoshoots and wedding dinner. The selection for ROM is too little, or rather, the wedding coordinators chose the gowns for me to try. So, basically, I’ve no idea what range of gowns they have, really. What a pity!

The Deal

has been entered into!

Time to start planning proper for our upcoming ROM at Crowne Plaza! 🙂

P/s: Alina, our coordinator, is a really nice lady. Personally, I feel that while customers should be firm in getting all the perks available, they need to be realistic about their expectations too. Some older reviews that I read about Alina were not great, but it was only because some people asked for rather ridiculous requests. I’m rather happy with her services. We shall consider Crowne Plaza as one of our potential wedding dinner venues in 2012!

Tip: Attend as many bridal shows hosted by the different hotels as you can possibly cover, because the perks offered there are the best bargain you will ever get. Remember, they are keen to close the deals, so you actually do have quite a good bargaining power to begin with! Choose wisely!
